I mean, it might be true but I feel like it's bad practice to use a first person perspective during reviews, especially ones that may alienate the reader from the writers perspective.

I think i can say i'm also a musician by now, and i don't agree much with that. I don't think that creating music opens up to a whole new world of perception like some people indicate. It might help to go over some issues of an album perhaps, and it sure makes music feel a part of you all the most, but it doesn't give you a "different perception". Nor the ability to take your opinion as more valuable than other people's opinions. I for one know many folks that play lots of stuff (and well for that matter), and their musical knowledge/perception is awful.
Not that the reviewer stated all of that. Just discussing!
