I noticed after I write that...as often..one day I ll learn.
Even if they reused a ragey Adrenaline riff, is fairly welcome, and its the same band afterall...plus I think does meet the overall album's night city vibe.

sounds too similar to Engine No 9 riff-wise for me
Carp isn’t bad but sound amateur for a band like them. sounds like their take on a casual skateboard for Pro Skater 1. A track too light especially compared to the other tracks, kinda doesn’t fit.

Remixes ain't even all that bad imo

Maaaan impossible...its so cool that almost silent (Well...) Heeeeere s myyyy....new adddreeess

I like Street Carp, but then again I'm a big fan of Adrenaline which is probably nostalgia speaking more than anything
I can definitely get people not liking Street Carp because it does have a PS2 skateboard game vibe

I dig songs with skateboarding vibes

plus I kinda can’t divorce the idea since I was like 12 and a lil skater already skating to hardcore punk and death metal. thought at first this album was lame, and that AtF and the s/t were way better.

For me street carp is much more atf than adrenaline honestly...specially in that phoned paralel verses (as the mentioned (well...))

I dig em too when they’re not thrown in to a melodramatic as hell album

But you re that giiiiirl
(With gooold teeeth)

Yeah the dramatic vibe/atmosphere is kinda a driving force behind the record so a track like Elite or Street Carp can feel a bit out of the blue on this whereas AtF is more of an ass whooping start to finish

Mascara, bqad tho

| |
Album Rating: 3.5
thing is those tracks are consistent with the vibe and come at a good time on the tracklisting. mascara still ends on a heavy note musically and lyrically. chino does his craziest inhale scream on bqad. street carp has no moments close to that.
|
| |
Reminds me how insane his inhale squeals were in the early days
I think he got those patented because I can't think of others doing these like he used to lol

go check out the anix for an example of what a deftones cover/remix in that vein should sound like

"Reminds me how insane his inhale squeals were in the early days"
His best inhale is probably on Royal tho. It's at least tied with Hexagram.

I still feel street carp consisten with the night city vibe I get from the whole album...such as elite...in fact they re both complementary in their repeated verses thrpugh space.

Those are two good ones definitely
I'll just never forget first time I heard Fireal, thought it was a cat being strangled

it's not a "bad" song (Street Carp), and i don't get the skate vibes, but even if there were that would not be a problem. the problem is that the song feels way out of place on the album, and it's far from being on the same quality level as the other songs here
