My post metal journey started this week cuz of all the hype and it has been soooo rewarding

Honestly post metal on the whole isn't super deep for my tastes but the big three (neurosis, ISIS and CoL) are absolutely mind bending

Well it only took 6 days with a new album (featuring Aaron Turner, no less) and revisiting the whole discog for this band to overtake guts, shug, and ulcerate as my number 1 fav band. The connection I feel to this music on an almost spiritual level is crazy. Beyond music honestly

Thank fucking god they pulled themselves back together. Fire Within Fires is cool but going out on it just felt wrong.
They got the world by the balls now.

Yeah I mean everything they've ever done continues to speak for itself, but id be lying if I said that it wouldn't suck for them to go out for good after the SK stuff
I read their statement a bunch of times. As someone who has taken so much of their music to heart for so long, that whole fiasco was kinda rough. And just thinking about the family, man....fuck
But that statement they released with the album was as fucking cathartic as anything I've ever experienced. I just about jumped out of my seat. As much as they don't owe anybody anything ever again, it was a release that a lot of people i think deep down needed. Seeing people you kinda look up to say don't let your circumstances beat or define you was huge honestly

Agree 100% man. It’s a perfect album for the times, but not just that, their resolve and just their sense of perseverance is out of this world insane… and I would be saying that if it was *just* a good record. But it’s not, it’s literally one of their best records and will probably end up being most metalhead’s aoty.
Just top to bottom, from the circumstances they found themselves in to the quality of the record, it’s all incredibly impressive and just really inspiring tbh

Inspiring! Yes, thank you. That's the word I was looking for

It’s actually fucking indescribable but inspiring is definitely the best word for it.
Trying to explain the whole situation to my uninitiated roommate, I just got so giddy and excited, I had to have sounded like a child. It’s like something out of a movie.
