That being said, one of ISIS's best chugs is a rehash of some chugs on celestial with a different rhythm and it makes their discography kind of come full circle in a brilliant way. So yeah, it can be done innovatively.

I agree. There are several rehashing guitar parts on this album were I'm not sure if it's a lack of inspiration or a culmination. It's gon' take a little while.

In total, I think it's excellent, but that is one of the big nagging doubts I have while I'm listening to it.

Which Isis chug are you referring to, Pots? Have got a hunch it's the opening one in Hall of the Dead but intrigued to know for sure

the original riff I'm talking about is the opening riff to Celestial (The Tower) and the homage is indeed the opening riff to Hall of the Dead

Can’t believe some of you think 10k Days is their best album. It’s obviously subjective but I do find it fascinating (cosmic and Pots) that would be your choice. To me, Lateralus is CLEARLY their best album and it’s not even really arguable.

Jambi is their best song.

It is the best on 10k, agreed. But best songs are Lateralus t/t and The Grudge.
