"Didn't SRV use 13s?"
Apparently (as I learned from Beato's video) he did for a while but had switched to much more manageable gauges like 10s or 11s before his death.

A friend of mine who was a pretty decent bassist as a teenager but didn't have a lot of common sense bought himself a 5-string that he was playing when I met him. He never looked up the correct way to tune it so he'd actually tuned it like a regular bass with an extra high B instead of a low B (EADGb instead of BEADG). First time I picked up his bass and started playing it he was like "yeah the tension on the strings is really high and I don't know why". Lol, I'm amazed he didn't warp the neck of that bass.

He just assumed that's how 5-string basses were supposed to be tuned, with an extra high string instead of an extra low one. So basically every string was tuned 5 semitones higher than it should have been.

Do any “known” guitar/bass players play extended range guitars with an extra high string as opposed to a low string? That could potentially be really cool.

When I first saw 6 string basses I thought they were tuned in eadgbe lol

Apparently Simon Grove (The Helix Nebula, Plini) sometimes tunes to DADGC.

I am quite surprised this has a 3.7 average and P3 has a 3.4, I will explain why. This soundoff by BRAman22 for P3 said it best I think, "A very typical Periphery album with some songs an awesome mix of being melodic and technical, while others are formulaic." I think this whole sentence applies to P4 as well. Some very formulaic songs on this album, Its Only Smiles, Garden, Crush and even to a degree, Reptile. I also think the albums mirror each other in many aspects, these are:
Price = Eagle
Motor = Bvrner
Marigold = Garden
News/indoors = Smiles
Flatline = Ghost
Prayer = Glow
Lune = Satellites
Looks like the only real unique track is Reptile, the rest is a direct mirror of their previous album. The reason in which I bring this up is because it makes me curious as to why P4 is regarded as such a better album than P3. When they are so tightly knit together in more ways than one.
