This album kind of slaps for being a weaker, wussier version of Opeth.

Will o the Wisp, Sorceress 2, A Fleeting Glance, and the bonus tracks are fire 🔥. But you trippin’ if you think this is anything other than weakest ‘Peth.

I will never understand the vitriol this album gets. The mix yeah I guess, but I'm not an audiophile so I dont care if it's a 'shitty' mix.

the first single, the title track is like the worst song on the album. so put a lot of people off the album, including me. I only checked it out way later on

Heritage and Deliverance are still tied in that department for me

Btw I don't think the production here is "weak". I think they tried to recreate the 70s prog rock vinyl warm kind of production. Problem is the bass ended up overextended and too present, but everything else sounds fine tbh

Is that like a fan remaster or just a vinyl mix or what

Man, Strange Brew is so good. Easily one of my favorite post-Watershed tracks

Mikael will probably remix it himself sooner or later, perhaps after the release of ICV remaster on CD (which should be around these days?), he had expressed the desire to

"While Heritage is the strongest of this new trilogy"

Say what now? Comfortably the worst of the bunch, no clear identity. Doesn't know what it wants to be. Pale Communion is the measuring stick for new Opeth.
