Ignoring the fact that all of the latter-half variations are much shorter than 5 min, when included they're always a completely different take on the theme of the song, calling them a "remix" is just an attempt at weakening them, but some of the strongest bits of the album come from those parts. No one actually thinks "so ambitious 5/5" because of that aspect of the album, they're just really great ways of making some of the tracks grow beyond simple pop tunes.
