Animals > Dark Side = Wish You Were Here >>>>>>>>>>>>> This.

It's a huge bloated album that goes nowhere and says nothing. The same damn central theme repeated over and over during its running time.
|
| |
Thinking about it this is probably more like a 3 than 3.5 for me, sorry zak :]

"Beyond that most of the instrumental compositions here are quite a bit less interesting than the psychedelic elements of DSOTM, The ethereal vibe of WYWH, or the more rock out acoustics of Animals(my fav). Goddamnit...the score gets lower the more I think about it"
Yeah, I agree on that but we are talking about 3 of the best albums ever made so I wouldn't go as far as calling it "shitté"

"In the Flesh, the 3 parts of ABitW (including Happiest Days), Mother, Goodbye Blue Skies, Empty Spaces, Young Lust, Goodbye Cruel World, Hey You and Comfortably Numb are all perfect for me tbh"
Where's One of My Turns man?
Also Empty Spaces is one of the worst on here

That's true too, my rate is more based on the music rather than the lyrics. But we also have people that say Final Cut is a lyrical master piece lol

"That's true. There was one moment on the second half where I got confused because they basically repeated the 2nd to last end segment of the first disc lol"
That was meant as a message of continuity though.

You just don't get how deep The Wall is. It's like, there's this wall around him, and the wall symbolizes a wall.

Meddle's middle section is weaker than 90% of this album tho

This album is the sonic equivalent of communism, and maybe that was Rogers purpose. He may have wanted to show how boring and useless the political agenda is. But it translates directly to the music itself and he must have done it drudgingly. I wouldn't be shocked if this was the only album Gorbachev played during the final decade of the USSR.

San Tropez is pleasant in a basically perfect loungey kind of way, Fearless is the best song on the album and Seamus is a cute little blues tune that stands out more than every weak point on the Wall, so I'm not sure what you mean.

" Fearless is the best song on the album"
dude
|

"San Tropez" is a perfect tune because it's so much more upbeat than the rest of their discography. It's excellence stems from its isolation.
Pink Floyd showed the world that you can't write two albums with themes about communism back to back. Animals is better in every way possible.
