honestly it may just be me, i can barely remember the stuff in between the big hitters, it's always in-and-out to the point where i feel like i could shuffle the in-between tracks and not notice a big change in flow, it's the sameness/lack of variety, which those other albums have too but I feel like I can dig in more with those because they do more things

you could say it's contrarian, but honestly i've never gotten this record and it took me years to be able to really enjoy their other classic records, this one seems to be taking an unusually long time to click. thrash is one of those genres where i really like it in its most melodic form (e.g: 80s Metallica) or its most progressive form (e.g: Voivod) more than its pure speed form like this

I mean I don’t even think the others records are that much better it’s just when you look at thrash in the 80’s idk why anyone would listen to this over megadeth or Metallica, both bands kill slayer lol

I like Slayer more than both those bands but I also believe crossover thrash is the superior version of the genre and this has more in common with that than those bands

all the thrash bands from the 80s have a different vibe. I might like Metallica more but sometimes it's Slayer day

Futures check Carnivore - Retaliation. Fun, tongue in cheek lyrics and the songwriting is great. Some of the lyrics might not have aged the best but it slaps

Honestly, I agree. Slayer is great but their only albums that are great from beginning to end are Show No Mercy and Seasons In the Abyss. Also, Slayer cannot solo for shit since Show No Mercy.
