Night my love

Only heard The Vanishing so far and it was pretty great but the climax is super whatever. Really wish they did more with that ending

Call me weird or whatever but I do like it sometimes when a song finishes off and the climax is all over the place (if that's what you meant)



It feels as if there's a chaotic, over-the-top finale that feels like the song has finally broken free of its own structure and is off to places we cannot see, feel or expect...

What I was trying to say is the ending is I find the ending anticlimactic. The screams don't have much power behind them or seem to serve the song in any meaningful way imo

I actually agree re the vanishing. I do like the song quite a bit but don’t love it as much as others seem to.



First two tracks, out like a lamb, in the ruins and the three fates are probably three early favorites (only listened in full 4 or 5 times as I’ve been alternating with hushed, which I’m liking alot more now).



Golden spires and moth and bone are solid too. But again. I don’t love Moth quite as much as others seem to either.

Fantano gave an interesting review, overall pretty lukewarm on it. He gave it 6 to 7/10. In his own words he also largely prefers their first 4 records. I enjoyed listening to a balanced take from him for once.



Anyone find this to sound very shrill/sharp ? I had to EQ down the higher frequencies on this much more than I do on the majority of other records.

I'm a bit saddened the guitars are so low in the mix here. Perhaps it also has to do with the fact they do not have that sludgy of an amplification. As a whole the songs sound pretty energetic though, which both has to do with the song writing and the mid range heavy mix.
