No one's getting UBI lmao Americans can't even get universal healthcare. No one's coming to save you, or us.

Fukn A, it took a couple listens to hit but this is REALLY fucking good. It only gets worse and detonator fucking rule.

I remember them playing doom in bloom when I saw them live, so fucking good.

Seeing these guys live was interesting for sure. Love how heavy they are only being a four-piece. The vocals are so weird live though, I know there are good lyrics there but it literally sounded like he was only saying 'wahh wah wah wah waaaahhh' on stage every time he went for his harsh voice. Was completely unable to make anything of it lol

Yeah saw them live yesterday too, it was freaking intense. It made me want to check them out. I belive I should start with Jane Doe, right?

Starting with Jane doe is what I did and I didn’t get it at all. Would recommend starting with some of their more accessible stuff. All we love we leave behind or the dusk in us are great starting points for the slicker production and more hooks so you can get used to the sound before you dive into the denser more abrasive releases

I also started with Jane Doe and hated it at first lol. Would also not recommend doing that and would start with AWLWLB.

Jane Doe is amazing but it probably isn't accessible to those who haven't heard Converge before.

I myself took a while to become accustomed to just how chaotic and intense Jane Doe is but when it clicked I was like "fuck - this is incredible".

Love is Not Enough is probably the new best starting point tbh

Album that hooked me was axe to fall, then and only then did Jane make sense to me wee little christcore influenced brain

Amoeba 'What's in My Bag' ep w/ Converge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgWeiEQh69Y
they really really like late 80s Hardcore/Crossover, no big surprise there

man that out of context excerpt^ of the title track fooled me, actually thought that was Scott Kelly vocals breaking my brain as I tried to place it with that riff. Guess that's Nate you guys have been mentioning. Really channeling the texture of strained Neurosis screams with the croaky groan taper

If you can’t make it through Jane Doe without listening to their more “accessible” albums first, then you are a little piss baby and your wife’s boyfriend makes fun of you behind your back.

That Amoeba vid was pretty great though.

I remember people thinking it was Scott Kelly on Eve too… nah Nate and Kurt are both great vocalists in their own right and imo always should’ve been used more

I'm finally getting around to checking this out - this album slaps. To me it's a noticeable step up from Love Is Not Enough.

Ya to me Love is Not Enough is the more “back to basics” of the two, I imagine people that like records like Axe to Fall or AWLWLB most probably fuck with that one more. To me this one is way noisier and has an even better vocal performance from everyone involved.

But ya I’m with hawks, both albums are fuckin killer

Like it’s actually ridiculous how great these guys still are. They’ve been the best band in the game for literally 30 years.
