I find myself humming the vocal melodies from the latter half of the opener way more often than I thought I would. The first song is just so damn catchy; probably my favorite track on here (I know this puts me in the minority lol). It's a shame that the rest of the album is somewhat messy and less memorable than some of their other works.

Best album since P2 and absolutely blew expectations out of the water when I came in with basically 0, I did enjoy Colors 2 a lot more than the previous 2 but I don't find myself going back to it all that much, I think I've already listened to this one more.
First song is the worst and a little too up its oingo boingo ass for sure, but it will worm its way into your head if you listen to it enough times and it def gets better as it goes on, it's kind of just like "Here's the shit people who don't like BTBAM hate cranked up to 11 RIGHT out the gate to make them fuck off before we kick this record off" and that's fine.
God Terror is pretty outside of the norm for them and a sick track.
Psychomantium and Slow Paranoia are the best beeg heavy tracks they've done since P2 easily, I can't believe some of Paul's guitar playing on that shit, he's really stepping up in Dustie's absence on this album.
Title track one of the best softer bois they've done if not the best, and fantastic closer. Was really pleasantly surprised with this album for sure.

Also I'm sorry, I get that this type of shit isn't for everybody for a lot of reasons, but every time people use terms like "wankery" and "wank" it comes off embarrassing to me. I could ctrl f every prog album on here for those 2 words and find someone who doesn't know shit about shit 1000000 times.

Album art is fucking complete cheeks though I am screaming crying throwing up begging for this to have less shit album art for how good it sounds. Never the band's strong suit though.

Shape’s synopsis and Django’s backing made me curious so I rechecked those tracks and holy hell these are still so bad. God Terror is literally the most basic and boring shit, and there’s a metronome going on top of it partway through lmao. Even the interesting parts of it they’ve done so many times before, and better. And the biggest thing is how insufferable Tommy is here for me. Nothing lands



Everything is just so stale. Anything that even potentially perks my ears is just them on autopilot and I’d rather just play their back catalog

They never topped P2, would love a remix of Coma Ecliptic to make that record sound more energetic. Either make it sound more heavy or more organic, now it just sounds like nothingness.
