Hey if nothing else maybe the discourse of this thing will promote ghost users to join in conversation and banter.
|
| |
Yeah, sput needs ghost users to transform to protectors of the
faith.

Huh
This is...actually just fine and isn't even nearly the aimless genre hopping I presumed it'd be. Like they do still interject a few WILDLY ill prepped breakdowns and they're hot garbage but otherwise it's just typical pop/stadium rock fare with a little too much vibrato and a few pleasant piano bits scattered throughout. Mostly inoffensively boring with like, one or two moments that actually work.
Insofar -slightly- better than Eden but definitely not my thing

Come out worshippers, don't be shy.

Oh woah they're actually called worshippers
And they make fanarts of many variety that they call "offerings"
I have a friend who has T-Swift app that pits people up to competitively guess which outfit T-Swift is gonna wear on tour and I thought assuredly no fanbase is as ravenous
But woah baby were getting there

Dedes pretty much exactly captured my thoughts. This feels more cohesive than Eden -- unfortunately, it's cohesive radio rock with some random 8-bit parts and breakdowns. But, I'd be lying if I said there weren't a few moments that work for me. To each their own. There actually might be an average-to-good album in here if the production didn't suck and they knew how to utilize the drummer.

Lol yeah bro
They actually whip out some SICK fuckin fills on Gethesmane as well as some guitar leads that sound like a stripped down Covet
It was pleasant and then it was gone

the first half of Gethesmane had something going for a minute there, probably the best segment

Even in Arcadia...
Arcadia...
All roads that lead to you as integral to me as arteries
That pump the blood that flows straight to the heart of me
America...
America...
I can't sleep at home tonight, send me a Hilton Hotel
Or a cross on the hill, I'm a lost little girl
Findin' my way to you, Arcadia...

Finally spinning this and am a few songs in
I’m not gonna lie, I am actually kinda digging it. The songs are silly and bloated, but it’s sort of a monument of bad taste that is decent enough background music for cleaning out my old apartment

if you like silly and bloated their last album was way more entertaining (in its own way)

FWIW I was in the “dumb fun” camp of Eden as well lol

Mmmmm..... Open my mouth! I want some more SLOP Token!!! DELICIOUS!!
|
| |
It’s almost as if listeners haven’t been paying attention. Dudes have a fucking tough time breaking out of the same boring ass songwriting mold since day 1. It’s algorithmic at this point.
|
| |
Sleep Tokens music just seems directionless to me, every song of theirs:
Slow intro
Singer mumbles something melodically
Soft chorus
More mumbling
Crescendo into second chorus
Bridge
Obnoxious breakdown that’s just a wall of sound that I can’t even understand the chords but shows they’re still “metal”

What’s with all the (previously) ghost user input itt? It’s like we’ve unearthed a secret batch from a basement somewhere and honestly I’m all for it
