Yeah this is really good but there’s not that many like… RIFFS. A lot of really pretty chord progressions that I like a lot though

Agree a little more "hard" riffing would have prob won me over but they really flex their melodic chops here

hmm they do go a bit hard on trying to hit a climax fairly early in every damn song so far, the builds almost feel incidental by proxy. Tease me a little. It’s a little erm over-stuffed? Having said that, any time the clean vox enter I’m thinking “ugh, forget I said that, epic climaxes with them screams right till the end please” because man they are not it

I mean otherwise, their sound is kinda pretty. I can see the appeal.

The fact that this has a 4.3 and Roads only has a 3.8 is ludicrous tbh lol.

That string section in Body Behavior leading into the last two minutes is so fucking sick. Probably my favorite moment of the record.

The second half of this is pretty transcendent.

Revelator is absolutely chilling.

Body Behavior is a personal favorite. So fuckin catchy.

I saw a comment somewhere here where this is one of those albums where 75% of the songs will become "my favorite song off the album" at some point. I second that. Amethyst drew me in first. Body Behavior's been the pinnacle. I think the namesake track is next.

That's very true but STILL. Makes me sad tbh.

Also I don't wanna make it seem like I don't like this album because it is fantastic but man all of the hyperglazing just isn't warranted imo. Especially when they have 3 albums that are better lol. The "BEST ALBUM EVER" talk just drives me nuts lol.

One of the very few albums where every song (except incidental I and III —not bad as interludes though) was an instant add to my playlist.

The Garden Route and Heathen don't do anything for me. The other (not interlude) tracks all rip.

is it weird angry guy yelling metal vocals or is it like ancient mythological creature returned from the dead metal vocals?
