"The little hints of war metal here are intriguing."

there's no shot there's a single ounce of war metal influence discernible here lmao

Idk my impression when I listened to it initially was there were little tiny bits where I was like 'oh shit are they gonna do it?' and then they didn't. Hence hints, but just my two cents. I'll have to give it another listen eventually.

When I think war metal I think like Blasphemy, Sarcofago, Beherit, etc. Would be cool to hear these guys try that though lol.

This is true. I guess what I was saying is there were moments in this album where it sounded like they might, but didn't. But it would be cool.

They both rip. Kin is especially amazing and my fav of theirs that I've heard so far.

Even just 20% of Kin's melodic sensibilities would do wonders for me, personally. I liked this as a pure savagery side quest, and recognize this won't happen, but I really wish they'd course correct and keep developing their songwriting.

If this record had a couple songs like When a Demon Defiles a Witch or I Will Find You, it would have done wonders for this record. I agree with Guyman that it's a cool heavy side quest but I also really hope they incorporate those melodic elements again one day.

brother that's like saying Messi is the standard for all football players. Phil is the goat, and he made sure everyone remembered with this album
