This is good not just because of the drumming

I've officially(?) heard this 5 times and it's marinating very nicely
"Condemned to Vascular Famine" is becoming my fave here, insane levels of awesomeness on that one. Retaining a sense of groove in the face of such complex rhythmic fuckery is bewildering. Very impressive

it has officially bypassed Psalms (sorry ford) and Disposal / Dharmata. I am yet to hear Prelude, so an auto-win there. And I may even prefer this to Chapters!

Awesome album all around, i have already at least 4 favorite tracks: Aputationsdrang, Accelerating The Rot, Temporal Disintegration and Heredity Violated

Accelerating The Rot is a banger, reminds me of a slightly less over-the-top Suttee.
They use all the tricks in their considerable arsenal here. The production is especially satisfying too (it might even be their best in that regard).

Agreed on the production part, it sounds perfect, i wish Passages sounded just like this

Yeah production here is perfect. Tons of headroom but if you crank it on a good system its just perfect. Particularly the drums. Crisp, clear, impactful and very, errm... textural? That snare is basically in the room with you, and the way he moves around the skin to vary the tone and timbre of the bloody thing is just awesome.

Man i have replayed Amputationsdrang like 10 times already today, it's so good

Every DS album got me addicted to a certain degree and this one is no exception... The replay value is immense

I love the way every album sounds, all unique and serve their individual experiences

Had no trouble spinning this 4 times in a row but yesterday I started jamming Passages and now I've spun that one 4 times already coz I can't decide which one kicks more ass.
|
| |
Passages has super dense production so I think it can make it hard to realize how crazy it is. It’s def one of my favorites but I think their whole discog is basically perfect

Passages and Sanguinary are really pushing themselves (and DS generally) into the upper echelons of DM for me
I used to jam a lot more DM. These guys have reignited something inside me that I thought was eroding. Special band
