Atta boy Rowbro. Idk but the “Seconds fall to hours falls to days” lyric in Bodega Head makes me so sad because I relate too much 😭

Alright I really tried with this one. The production is way too restrained and has no bite, for every interesting section, there’s a section that makes me check how much is left in the track length, I don’t like the vocals, the drumming is extremely mid. Just my opinions, glad everyone is digging it

realising that blood moon is just ALLB orange time machines care with less noodling

which is a little unfavourable in that those Very Deliberate 7/8 verses do feel very played out at this point, but also p impressive in that the og was driven by interplay between two v distinct vocalists, and these guys scratch the same itch without giving the slightest sense of lacking that (plenty of overdubs but still, impressive range)

You call the drumming on Nazar mid?

The drumming is crazier on Clairvoyant for sure but it had to do some heavier lifting

god I know this has been said before but this is such a massive step up from Clairvoyant. The heavy parts feel more frenetic and urgent, the slow almost post rockish moments are far more interesting, and that might be where this is at its best. Any time clairvoyant slowed down for a minute I feel like I was just waiting for it to pick back up. There’s not a second on this record where I feel that way. And No Gospel, Jesus fucking Christ. Before this I could not even imagine these guys pulling off a track like that. When I saw it was over an hour I was a little worried but this thing just fucking flies by.

Really might be better than Artificial Bouquet. I need more time with it but it’s wild that I’m already comparing it to one of my top records of the year. Def gonna hit the record store today or tomorrow and pick this one up.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if the avg landed around 4.2-4.4

It absolutely deserves it

THE ONLY HOLY BOOK

IS THE ONE INSIDE YOUR HEART

This is almost too full of iconic riffs and heart ripping climaxes for me to absorb in 2 listens

I listened to this last night at 2am when I couldn't get to sleep, popped it on again just now to make sure it wasn't just the insomnia that was telling me how good this is but no, it is in fact amazing regardless of whether I'm sleep deprived or not. What an incredible experience this record is.

Said fuck it and just ordered the Deathwish exclusive along with a shirt. Sick that these guys are on Deathwish now. They’ve always been a great label but their lineup rn is fucking lethal

The dynamic range on this record is ridiculous too, like the first couple of songs are trademark skramz/post hardcore stuff but Nazar is just straight-up blackened doom. It's a mammoth to digest and I don't feel like rating it just yet but it's definitely a 4.5 on first impressions.

I love the fact it's called Hiraeth, especially as a Welsh resident.
