well its very annoying to see everyone on the site jizzing over Isis while another superior and more important band of the same genre is comparatively ignored...

fucking YES.

jus spreading the truth.
I really quite like Isis. But compared to Neurosis, there's no fuckign contest. It's like an olympic athlete competing in the paralympics

good simile

I never said Isis sucked or anything. quite the contrary. Just look at my rating for this and their other albums, and what album i'm digging.
anyway my point was look at the numbers of people rating Isis compared to Neurosis. almost 700 users rated this album, only just over 200 rated Neurosis' most popular album. completely retarded given that a very high proportion of Isis fans have heard of Neurosis, and would definitley enjoy their music

There will always be lesser known bands. You just have to live with it. There are better ways to tell people about a good band. Rating a great album a 2.5 and complaining does very little for credibility.
|

Neurosis aren't really 'lesser known' than Isis, you're all just too fucking lazy to actually get some stuff js

shut the fuck up. assuming that the reason I rated it a 2.5 is for any other reason than this album being boring as fuck is incredibly arrogant. Isis makes boring music and is contributing to the stagnation of post-metal, an already pretty stagnant genre.
ompletely mediocre bands such as BTBAM and
Thrice are routinely praised as godlike here, to the detriment of WAY superior bands.
not by me.

Well that's a start :D

Well I mean first Meshuggah now this : (. I don't think Isis are speeding up the stagnation, it's the fault of bands like Tephra and We Made God (even though I like them).
No matter what the big three of post-metal will always be Isis, Cult of Luna, and Neurosis.

Yeah it just so happens that Isis has relinquished their status (harhar) in my eyes with their latest 3 albums.
Wavering Radiant was definitely a contribution to the boring elements of post-metal.
i only liked one song

Wavering Radiant is a qwestionable (cwutididthar) record, possibly thier worst one, but it wasn't that bad. This on the other hand rules, you just need more listens.

i've been listening to Isis for ages. I've had Panopticon for maybe 2 years. The only things I can listen to on this are So Did We, In Fiction and Grinning Mouths
