i can't believe i held off on their most recent three albums for so long. i heard The Deal and What One Becomes back when they came out, and i liked em, but i guess not quite enough to keep following the band? little did i know they were becoming more and more like what i like. gotta love when that happens haha this is seriously amazing

metal AOTY by a v small nose. Some truly spectacular moments and the crunchy thicc prod and the way it drives the immersion is phenomenally well done

I think this is Sumac's best yet, in large part because they went with Scott Evans instead of Kurt Ballou. I respect and admire Ballou's work but personally find his guitar tones too woofy and it robs the recordings of a bit of grit or something.

I absolutely love some moments on this but there is too much beating around the bush too. A mixed bag but I guess in the right mood this may feel like a killer experience. Will spin this again at some point because the atmosphere is very unique and I love the production. Maybe it will grow on me at some point who knows... Khanate's Things Viral is still the best album of this kind I've heard.

Yeah, the production on this bad boy slaps. I got new headphones for Christmas, this sounds so crispy.
