Suffocate is that track for me. I listen to that like 50 times every day.. I've heard every variation of every breakdown in existence, but that one just shakes me for some reason

Something that drives me crazy on this record is that little transition/riff they go into in Sit & Mourn at 2:01 that has almost outro-of-Backbone-by-Gojira levels of crushing weight to it and then they literally never repeat it and I want it to just go INTO that riff so bad. The black metal build-up feels like they're about to go so hard but it goes back to the main riff. Still sick but damn

that whole transition is maybe the most intense thing on the entire album album for me. It's perfect

same. It's weird, I don't usually fuck with high-pitched nasally vox like this, but the singer just brings it. His intensity is infectious. He's dragging me to the other side

@artiswar oh it absolutely gives me the frisson man. So many parts of this album do, it's like therapy

the suffocate breakdown is on a loop in my head

@joshie and after that give the Upon Loss singles a go - my personal fav Knocked Loose. The suffocate breakdown really is the most stuck-in-your-head catchy breakdown, I've found myself tapping that out all weekend while I work it just won't go away

Breakdown at the end of Thirst is crazy. Some shit I would have heard in a 'youtube heaviest breakdown compilation' in 2012

Vox are so infectiously intense and insane that someone in a wheelchair felt the urge to crowdsurf in a gig (which he/she did!). I swear someday Bryan is going to make a disabled person jump again just with his screams

Used to think these guys weren't very great, but whoever shat in their pancake mix before A Tear In The Fabric of Life and caused them to write actual brutal stuff is a modern day hero. "Sit & Mourn" needs to be the primary sound of their next album, they're onto something fuckin insane with that one.
