fwiw Reverie probably still is the best Yeule song. love the other two esp Pocky Boy, but both of them have an amateurish feel compared to the places they've gone since

Walked into a music store I hadn't been to in forever and had all of 1 minute to choose something to get because my cab arrived early - impulse bought this and (v randomly and for a surprisingly low price) Susumu Yokota's Grinning Cat

yeah Banquet has gone from strength to strength in Kingston - been to quite a lot of gigs they've organised as it's my neck of the woods (Black Midi, Sleaford Mods, Skindred, etc)
Kingston has demolished most venues though, they have gigs in Prizm now ...!
When I was a teenage kid and early twenties you had the Robert Peel and that had quite big bands play there sometimes and was an actual full time venue (and strip joint lol). 90s>

What do they sell at music stores? Records? Then you need a record player and isn’t the sound quality different?

caught them live thursday... was really taken aback at how loose and fun the show was considering how serious and borderline despondent their music feels.
overall i'm not sure the full band setup works live, mostly cause its a single guitarist and drummer backing them. Pretty much everything besides the drums and vocals felt like playback. the glitch princess songs that bookended the set were prob the highlights of the show

i should have guessed you were round my area doof lol

Makes me wonder about all this heavily produced modern stuff aleckzillion in what universe can you reproduce it live. That’s cool they made it loose and fun tho I guess you kinda have to haha

Why do I feel like Yeule could craft that into the most intimate line on the next album
|

Wow that’s aggressive, but I agree this is a very good album
