Every review and article has some shoehorned agenda in it - it promotes music as ‘just like any other media’ and that’s inexcusable, the appeal of music is very unique



You feel like the news article preamble to a new releases sets out how the ‘audience’ is going to engage with it - ‘in light of Trump’s recent arrest the new Death Grips album is going to be a must listen!’ etc

yeah, P4K have been like that for what feels like forever tbh, not sure it's really a 'new' thing if that's still how they're evaluating music. Most of the P4K reviews I've read usually spend so long dissecting music using (often) tenuously-linked outside context, that sometimes you legitimately cannot tell whether the reviewer actually listened to the release they had supposedly written about. It smells of a desperation to make their writing appear way more important than it actually is.

Just saw them, I think it was the first show of the tour? They were really good and the openers Drab Majesty were cool too.

But they didn't play alife, they didn't play skin in the game. They only played 14 songs and one was a cover and another was kinda meh prayer remembered.

I wish they played skin in the game. Super lame if they end up playing those ones at later dates on the tour.
