yeah he does that with every album at this point. the cover for this is the ultimate zero-fucks-given example.

This definitely turned out to be my most listened to by Ben, so glad he's not sticking to a certain style, we need more chameleons like Mr. Howard

It's pretty nice

The more superficial artificial bleep the more substantial anchored soul is lost

I've talked shit on the Sputnik consensus before, but I'll give the site this: users here have better taste than those on rym. So many great albums are wayyyyy underrated on rym, and this is one of them. a 3.2 for this is wild

Maybe if he hadn’t released This is Where We Were I might rate this kinder, but it’s the knowledge he’s done much more resonant stuff before that hurts this for me

you mean the album that is called something else and has virtually no direct point of comparison besides being made by the same artist

'a 3.2 for this is wild'
That equates to a 3.6 here will just check the rating here...
...3.7, it is a tiny bit underrated in RYM measures

.5 may not seem like a lot but I swear man, the vast majority of albums I run across on RYM are between 3.2-3.6. Some borderline classic stuff being way underrated

Album Rating: 4.5
It’s just the scale
Comparatively they still rate stuff similarly but take off maybe .4 from a sput rating
I actually rate more on the RYM scale as 3.5 for me equals ‘excellent’ - if I changed that then I’d have over 1000 5s and over 2500 4.5s and that would be not so great a rating range
But I actually really like a lot of music so 7000 of my ratings from 12500 equate to ‘excellent’ or higher to me.
The ratings on RYM basically are the same, a 3.5 is a very decent/excellent album on that scale, 3.2 is an ‘approaching very good’ album
