I'm sure they're better live than on the album. His vocals are so much better and the production was average on their first two

His vox def got better but he still sounds sick as fuck on DoP, honestly I still think it's one of their most evil sounding albums to date. I see his improvement as a positive for other Immo albums, but not as a negative for DoP.

As far as production, I know you take issue with HiA but what don't you like about DoP? I think DoP sounds great, maybe not perfect but there's really nothing wrong with it. Sounds a lot better than this (bit better than HiA too) at any rate. Actually, I prefer DoP's production to UC, Shadows, HR, and Kingdom as well.

I don’t have a problem with the production on any of their stuff honestly.

Same. Some of their albums are better produced than others for sure, and some do have their issues (like KoC or the drum sound on this) but not enough to be bothered by it.

I think DoP sounds awesome, like I get it if someone doesn't like the drums on this, but I can't really find any faults in DoP's production. HiA sounds great too. I love the rawness of DoP though, adds to the evil atmosphere.

KoC's production actually does bother me. DOP, HIA, CTAWB, and MAD all sound amazing. I even love the production on this, except for the drums. Its suffocating.

For me I just think KoC's production takes away from the atmosphere. So there's parts where I'll be like "that's sick but man if this had the production M&D had it would be insane". But other than that I'm fine with it.

Tbh I wish it just sounded like Providence. Speaking of, that album slays. Gonna go jam.

I'd put gorguts over these guys for me, just ever so slightly.

I love obscura and ctawb about equally. The tie-breaker for me is fwth and erosion both being dm classics. The only other album immolation has done that I'd call a dm classic is here in after. But yeah, immolation probably has *more* quality material than gorguts, just by nature of their consistent output. I just love gorguts' shit a tad more.

Regardless, probably the top 2 all time dm bands for me
