I think of this as akin to a 90s version of Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. It's pop prog with heavy themes of mental health issues and its medications and diversions. Paranoia, depression, fear, all lurking under a facade of happiness or normality. Brilliant. And for a Ween album, super focused. Hey There Fancy Pants is only sub-par track and they should have cut it. Every thing else is just perfect and on point.

Fancy Pants perfectly exemplifies how my appreciation of this band has grown or shifted as time as went on. Easily a constant skip when I first discovered the album some ~10 years ago, I love it now and wouldn't change anything about it. And going from that directly into Captain is genius
