I personally think he's pretty on point with most things outside of the core genre
I think it's odd cause he doesn't normally single people out like that, but that does not matter, does it?

Pika's just based, that's all
Also, I still haven't heard this yet. But, based on all the Shadow of Intent and Carnifex I've heard, a band going deeper into the symph-deathcore sound seems intriguing to me

Pika is definitely based yeah

Only symph-deathcore album I fuck with is Winds of Plague's debut. Modern symph-deathcore bands are hammering in the bm influences that I don't care for.

The BM influences are the aspect I enjoy the most tbh. I love the way bands like Carnifex blur the line between deathcore and blackened death metal

I think bm influenced deathcore is hard to pull off right, because everyone's just cracking out tremolo riffs everyone's heard a billion times before with blast beats on top without paying any heed to the actual songwriting
Carnifex are the first band that spring to mind when it comes to this kind of deathcore style - you go listen to any of their last few records and they indistinguishably blend together
tremolo => chug => tremolo => more tremolo => song over
But then again, deathcore has always been a genre destitute of creativity save a few exceptions

Maybe Pika is mega-based, I only seem to run into him in threads where he's taking the piss. Luck of the draw.
And I'll push back a bit Get Low... everyone here is extremely autistic. It's mostly why I still post here.

My favourite bm influenced deathcore is prolly Mental Cruelty from a couple years ago, that one at least had cool leads on top of the tremolololing

What would "pulling it off right" sound like, though? That's what I'm trying to picture.
|
| |
Idk but Sounding more like black metal would be a good start tbh

recording the music with potato-powered equipment instead of having it sound like you spent a small fortune on production may also help

MC def doing it right in my opinion. Also, agree bands should lean more bm and less death when blending

A lot of people seem to think She Must Burn does the blackened deathcore thing better than Lorna Shore. I still like this more, but SMB is really good.
