That's almost the complete opposite to how I feel. Aathma is a lot messier. I just take a more extreme view than Mars in that Aathma doesn't really work for me at all. The level of refinement here is on another plane entirely.

SM is about pushing Persefone's pro metal sound to its extreme sans restraints. I used to dislike that, and then over time appreciated the absurdity of it and their willingness to just full-throttle attack everything and anything.



This album takes those tendencies + the spacey atmosphere of Aathma and refines them, it's the logical conclusion of their evolution in that regard.
