There's like 1 very good song from this album (MORE?), a few other decent ones, and everything else is pretty much hot garbage. The singles were some of the most boring metal songs I've ever heard.

This is probably the most disappointing follow up album that I can think of in the metal genre, going from Owls to this.

^Agreed. Never wanted to like an album more than this one when it dropped. I’ve tried numerous times and I cannot like it outside of a few moments here and there.

Anyone notice the main riff from the newish single suborbital blues sounds like it was almost directly ripped off of opeth’s song sorceress?

I love this way more than Owls. I get why it's not everyone's bag though

Seeing them open for BTBAM after seeing them headline a while ago, it was really disappointing to see the sax be a backing track and not an actual sax

I feel like this is their best, but actually kind think it is maybe a top 50 album of all time. This is one of the most unique concept albums ever and the pain is on the same level as something like The Antlers Hospice.

i love what they did here even if it took a few tries for it to sink in. they’ll never be the same without this vocalist imo

Listening to this again and yeah its still a mess overall. Lots of good ideas but all of them rushed and never get a chance to develop. It would not shock me if like 5 years from now a band member comes out and says they cut like half the material from the sessions to keep it from being a double album or something to that effect. The first half of the album all ending with those glitch effects kinda points to that being the case.

Hawks, this is going to sound gay but you have to listen to this one in a certain mood and it hits. It's not an immediate album
