Big fan of this band and I think this latest album is very good, however I was kind of underwhelmed at first as I was hoping for more in the style of the excellent song' 'The Narcissist' which I heard prior to receiving the CD. I feel like the balance between clean & harsh vocals is at times too far on the cleaner side on this album. However it's true that the brooding riffs and melodies for example in 'Acrimony' kind of make up for it at times. The 'heavy part of 'But not forgotten' after the three minute mark is superb but somehow feels over too soon! Ah well. It's still a great track and one of the highlights for me
In any case the clean vocals from from both singers are impressive and the music has that special almost nostalgic feel that DSHS does so incredibly well. Looking forward to what they come up with next!
