Fear Inoculum destroys this.

Whatever about whether they are great albums or not I can't imagine there are too many people that would think that either album destroys the other.

"Fear Inoculum destroys this."
nah. i just find that album kind of a chore to listen to from beginning to end even though i can fully enjoy the songs if they play individually. interludes are pretty pointless there also.

Interludes there suck, agreed.

This rides such a strange line between awfully generic and oddly unique. Or maybe it's just decent alt metal. I can't tell. I like the tunes a lot at least

I've listened to this album five times because every time I put it on I forget I am listening to it. It's bland. I'm still unsure how I feel about it but truly don't think it deserves any more of my time.

"This rides such a strange line between awfully generic and oddly unique"
That would be a very fair assessment of this band in general tbh
|
| |
This sounds like Tool covering Muse songs

These two things are the same.

Never understood the comparisons of Chevelle with Tool to be honest. The band sounds nothing alike and their singer sounds like a whiny teen emo, while Maynard sounds mostly like an old asshole. Also these guys are trash, Tool at their very worst are still leagues ahead.

Hot Cross wants to see you in their office. 🤬

I really like this musically, but the shit production makes it tough to enjoy at times. Especially the bass guitar; it makes everything sound so muddy. Tons of glare on the cymbals too which, mercifully, are rolled a bit.
|

Well this is fucking great. I could never really sit out an entire Chevelle record, but this one is great from start to finish.
