Ha ha. It seems so clear. I don't know anything about Mark Zonder. I don't think I've ever read anything about him or any interviews. So, I don't know if this is typical for him or not. Either way, you can tell from his playing that he takes his parts seriously, but to call out a fill-in drummer for not acting like it's his full-time gig... I think the real secret is that he mentions, almost casually, that Portnoy called his playing 'robotic'. I think that stuck with Zonder, and he was just getting back at him -- "You call my playing robotic, but you're not even good enough to play my parts" kind of shit.
