Album just turned 20.

I remember picking this up in high school and how the Hand That Feeds music video was on an Xbox demo disc.

Damn I feel old.

I mean everyday is exactly the same. Heck even indie band $!$@$@ *solvent applied* Dear Stardom, said Today's the same as Ever! I am more attached to Year Zero. I do feel like this album got some criticism for just not being ground breaking.

It was heavily criticized because it sowed NIN moving in a much more mainstream almost poppy direction after the more visceral release of The Fragile.

Trent also had a very unique image for this release that was seen as him almost being a model band leader with they tend at the time post American Idiot of bands embracing make up, eye liner, etc.

The Fragile is extraordinarily good at times but it has a lot of songs that just fill time which well it can hurt the overall score. I also don't mind passover songs or transitional ones if they have a good vibe and feel like they can give a cool down moment. I only know half of this album, as it goes. NIN is this band that I never really got into until when I got more real life angry :P Probably around the time Year Zero came out.

Last 3 tracks is where it’s at. You Know what you are, T/t and Hand that Feeds are the shit too.

Not top tier NIN (that would be The Downward Spiral-Broken-The Fragile), but still a damn good album.

This was also the first NIN album Trent wrote/released after going to rehab and getting sober. That in and of itself was bound to change the sound and image quite a bit.

Indeed, the album is back loaded, but I really love the opener as well.

It's beautiful how All the Love in the World unfolds towards the end innit? Like a perfect pop tune.

Less than a month until the tour starts, can't wait.

With teeth (song) is the St Anger(song) of NIN.
