when I'm in a happy mood and want to listen to Atmos, I drop on Overcast! or You Can't Imagine...
I haven't listened to Lemons (besides Skinny Pimp and Yesterday) in a couple years really. Slug's just too damn lazy/apathetic on it to me.

eveyr rapper needs to be lazy sometimes. othewise stuff like Doggystyle and Rolling Papers wouldn't be as good. i don't listen to a whole lot of "indie-rap" these days. mostly odd future and after that prob gonna be old school hip hop, then an eminem kick(happens every summer)

meant to say last third. like the last six songs really suck
|
| |
Album Rating: 5.0
nah the weakest songs are Flesh, Breathing, A Girl Named Hope and Blamegame, which is mainly in the middle third of the album
but yeah at this point this is more a sentimental 5 for me -- it's not a perfect album by any means but I also loved the shit out of it during a lot formative and influential years in my life. and a fair majority of it is really really fucking awesome
Lucy Ford actually has their best songs, and Overcast! would probably be the objectively best album..

Lovelife, title track and Give Me are my favorites, but yeah One of a Kind, Shrapnel and Modern Man's Hustle are all top 10 for sure
also I love the drums on Overcast!, plus, it essentially started indie rap along with Funcrusher Plus

ant always brings that shitty snare sound. i do play drums a little myself, and his snare is shit. also a huge lack of bass drum

I think it sounds lo-fi and dirty, just the way I like my 90s hip hop
are you listening to it on cd or just a d/l? I think the bass drum has a pretty decent presence...
