"I'm not sure how good this is once the thrill of being repeatedly punched in the face wears off"

Exactly, as well constructed and balls to the wall this is, it's all kinda one note and hard to distinguish each song from the next. With the exception of Sands Of Sleep.

The final few songs could use a bit more variety imo

I don't think this holds up that well after the initial listen but it's still solid

If it holds for me after a couple more months the way it has been then I’m bumping this to a 5. Can’t explain it much more other than it just constantly shows the energy it has on first listen

I don't really get what some people don't like about his production. It sits in that perfect sweet spot for me where everything feels organic but it's still MASSIVE and has good clarity. I get so tired of hipsters lauding "raw" production that ultimately just makes the music sound small.

[5] Yeah he's got a good mix of pretty clean production with the rawness that you want for a hardcore or metal album

Fuck no! His bands really suck and he literally stole these production techniques from the greats.

Is he not allowed to voice his opinion? I find the production on this way too layered with everything being way too overpowered at times.

Wizard knows more about metal than most people will ever forget and also knows good metal production

that being said i want to give this album a chance as i thought the lead single was interesting enough
