Yet here I am, revisiting this thing.

This sort of thing isn't really my jam generally, but it was an enjoyable enough listen. Lost interest in a few places and the singer isn't actually very good, but there were some great passages and obviously they are technically gifted musicians and they display that well here. Doesn't really strike me as an album I'll be coming back to though.

Lore or reflections OR Dead roots stirring are all HIGH above this
This has great ideas in parts but just falls flat on the whole. Massive dissapointment.

Yeah, Motorpsycho is a decent 4.5, such as Slift.
I 3.8 this cause I do love a lot of cuts here, but totally get your views.

Embers is so fucking great. What a roller coaster of set pieces and time changes. Btw, the Sput rating for this makes me want to puke.

Embers is a masterpiece and that rating is a travesty.

Dunno if anything here qualifies as a masterpiece but the closest would be Halcyon.

I don’t mind the vocals, but they’re definitely not an improvement over previous releases and in some instances, quite a downgrade. If you’re going to strip the music back and focus on the vocal lines, you better have a strong vocalist. I still think Elder are capable of more great albums, but this feels like a transitionary one.
