not sure I vibe with the creep synth mood on Glitch Princess

Can't believe I actually listened to the 5 hr track
|

Rly didn't expect to like glitch queen when I first saw the album cover but I think it's probably the best thing I've heard so far in 2022. 4/5. Too Dead Inside, Bites On My Neck, Perfect Blue and Eyes are my favourites atm

Nice!!!!
I couldn't pick favs without listing half the album tbh, but I don't there's a weak track there. Gonna follow your example and take the plunge on that bonus track ig

The bonus track was kind of nothing. Just rly slowed down ambience. I had a stupid amount of house chores to do yesterday so I let it play for its entire duration. Kind of got me in the zone in a weird way but actively listening to it would probably be torture lol

Also the opener is the only skippable thing. My gf was hanging out in the living room while I played that right next to her through my echo dot and it was a bit cringe lol. She asked, "wtf are you listening to?"

Paha lucky sync then ig. I do have to fix up my apartment sometime soon, so maybe that's the one
And hmmm idk, defs agree that the opener isn't really a "song" or anything to sell this by, but I rly like the way it sets down Yeule as a presence/identity. Feels v candid and perfectly sets the stage for the way individual songs unpack themes, like the way that "like to obsess over people, then throw them away" line plays off on repeats when you know Flowers Are Dead is coming up with a full mapping depressed romantic dysfunction or whatever, say - think the way they present themselves makes the record so compelling and uncomfortable, and it's nice to have a nucleus for all that
but I am not about to play it around my gf lol

I agree it's contextually fitting, but yeah out of context it prompts some serious awkwardness with anyone who hears you listening to it haha. Had no idea at the time, it was my first spin. I haven't mined all the lyrical content just yet, partly due to Spotify not having lyrics for every song on the album (ugh)

Is it a waste of time?
|
| |
If it's not being used as background noise for something else it's definitely a waste of time

I was not expecting good things after the opener to Glitch, but it is actually kind of good maybe? Hmm 🤔

"Is it a waste of time?"
I was playing it and I fell asleep for 4 hours. That was a good listen!

I was pretty skeptical of the ambient track but if you're doing other stuff it's perfectly pleasant to leave on in the background. I keep putting on this album while going about my day, and I need to remind myself like 10 minutes into the 4 hours that I should probably switch to another track. It's easy to get stuck in, and honestly quite nice so long as it's not the only thing you're doing.
Anyway, the second half of Glitch Princess is so so so good I can't even. Don't Be So Hard On Your Own Beauty down to the (real) closer Mandy is knockout track after knockout track.

(Also @Demon of the Fall, that YAYA KIM album is pretty sweet indeed. Hope more people notice it)

Certainly is! I'm leaving it as my dig just in case anyone is like... 'what the hell is this?' and looks it up out of curiosity.
I think this has potential to grow on me, there's definitely something potentially captivating in the general vibe/atmosphere, I just need to connect with the individual cuts a little more.

spin Reverie on repeat until you can feel the cracks in your own soul, then follow up with Angel and cry a bit and then the rest is history
