I’m definitely just kidding haha, I don’t think I’ll do a negative review of a metal album due to my limited knowledge. The few metal reviews I have done have been because I feel like the album’s sound is diverse/noob friendly enough that I feel I know what I’m talking about

Also a 4.6 Ponton rating definitely raises my interest even more

Nocte, go for it. You seem well versed enough.

Honestly I've thought about it, but I've probably shat on enough 'loved' albums this month (even if the hype was fucking gaga). I did lay out my concerns for this album a few [read; alot] pages ago so I'd only be expanding on that really. I'm not ruling it out, but I'm not committing to it either.

I feel like I'd spend half the review mourning the loss of Ovid's Withering

More deserving of it than States Fault was.

No Suis La Rune ratings either my man. Jam Quiet, Pull the Strings! and discover the most gorgeous melodies of the genre.

as much as Ben kills it in this band, i feel like he sounds much more at home in Hollow Prophet where he can be as disgusting as possible.

His Hollow Prophet material is absolutely his most crazy stuff, but even compared to his past work with this band his performance here seems much more restrained. It fits the style shift but it's definitely not his most fun performance.

Speaking of Hollow Prophet, they're due an album in the near future. Yet another deathcore release to be hyped for.

Even when restrained, when he goes on like this, Ben is a serious contender for the "all time great harsh metal vocalist" badge of honor.
