True, Filter is another band to add to that list

"Outside of that its just cliches of 2010s Metalcore"
Its not even the fun cliches either, it's them spamming the brown note throughout the album while a bunch of boring synths are sprinkled in for atmosphere.

this would be pretty great if it wasn't for the cringe harsh vox and the way they're produced, also lyrics are cringe but who cares

Seriously.... what is groundbreaking about this AT ALL?

Scenekids love everything that has an over-emotional theme... This record is just like the latest Architects release that is still way overhyped

I like it because I think it's good. I'm actually a 28 year-old tired lawyer/businessman who's been listening to metal broadly for 10 years now. This has been an interesting thread/conversation because there are vocal people who dislike the music so intensely that their ratings are very low. There's been a disconnect because there hasn't been any real technical discussion on quality, people are mostly saying "I like this" or "This sucks", in oversimplification.

I don't think this album warrants a 4.5 or 5 at all, but I also completely fail to understand why it is so lacking in creativity or musicality as to warrant a severely low grade.

I don't think it's lacking creativity. They tried some new things, but for me, none of it worked. I don't hate the album or think it sucks. I just don't think it's my thing.
I had a really hard time getting through the album and even some of the songs. Definitely not something that I'll ever return to, but it's cool that some people are enjoying this thing. More power to you.

I thought the last two albums were bland for the most part. This to me is genuinely innovative sounding with the industrial vibe and lots of variety. I do think this is breaking some new ground. Or I would like to hear the albums that are apparently similar. I'm glad I have some new music to enjoy the hell out of.

Very fair Dmax. I feel the same about exploring the sound. Yeah only a few of the screams and effects have worn out their welcome so far, to me.

really enjoying this album, the only song I really don’t like here is Freefall because I think the drums screwed up the second verse and ruined the flow

“album reminds me of the sonic zero gravity ost“
Dude I thought the same thing, particularly the track Eclipse
And I love it lol

Fuckin page break
But when Shadow the Hedgehog 2 comes out they should use Bloodlines as the theme song

Agree with Toondude here, the more I listen, the more I like it. Not a single song that's hard to sit through. Would love to hear Eclipse or Talking Heads live tho, they'd probably be fun as hell.

If they got rid of Marcus for a better vocalist I might enjoy this a little bit more.
Or just keep Marcus on cleans. His singing is fine to me.. I really just cannot stand his screams and there's no way you can tell me they are good because there's so much layering and distortion when he screams just to get it to sound the way it does (which isn't very good).
