I listened to this thing alongside reading the lyrics and wow I had no idea "Burning Myrrh" references "Armory of Obsidian Glass" and "Silmaril". fuck these guys can paint vivid images well through those lyrics.

this album feels like a romp through a corrupted babylonian garden overrun with demons and other horrors. favorites are probably "Thundering Hammers", "Armory of Obsidian Glass" and "Angels Gather Here". that sample at the end is unnerving. "Ygramul the Many" too with that sax, what the hell?

overall this is just fuckin' awesome, and listening to it back to back with Trumpeting helps me appreciate it all the more.

Scientists could bio engineer this album and transform it into a weapon of mass destruction, wreaking chaos and destruction upon the earth.

I like 'Armory of Obsidian Glass' but not quite sold on this as a whole yet. One thing I will say is at least they're playing around with dynamics and not relying on being 'brutal' for the entire run-time. This probably warrants further inspection.

'it's not as multifaceted or as complex as you think'

Who are you talking to? I wasn't claiming this to be the case.

Thanks for your enlightened take, having been provided with irrefutable evidence I shall now abandon this release without hesitation. Apologies for my ineptitude.

I might check the early stuff... heard a rumour that it's more hardcore than grind.

I’m enjoying this more than I’d initially anticipated tbh, it’s definitely starting to grow.
