@IFWT: Well yeah clearly.

@art: I can't say i agree with that at all, The Chosen Pessimist has some of his best clean performances and he even does that one well live from the videos I've seen. But you could probably see that coming from a mile away given my favorite singers list, Anders isn't far off from them style wise.

That song is a big outlier though, they have nothing else remotely like it. And I'm in the minority of liking that song quite a bit, it's probably my fave performance of his.

Yeah, that's definitely his peak. Outside of that he's decent, I honest to god do like his performance on certain tracks from Battles and Siren Charms even. Like Sand, With Eyes Wide Open, Wallflower, and Drained come to mind there.

I can live with the fact that he can only sound decent when "studio magic" is used, hasnt stopped me from enjoying his performances on earlier albums. Its more his shitty artistic choices that make him so godawful on these last few albums.

Anders clean vocals are fine in small doses and when he doesn't try to sing higher and make the chorus sound like a katy perry song

Yeah he can get kind of iffy when he's going ridiculously high, but it isn't enough to break the momentum of say, Call My Name. He's never grated on me in the same way James LaBrie or Stained Class-era Rob Halford have though, so there's that.

Despite his uninspired (and usually downright awful) artistic choices, I feel like he does add something positive and unique to the band and the genre as a whole. Not sure what, but something.

lol agreed, he has such a weird voice. It's virtually impossible to confuse him with another vocalist.
