I get that, but for me it hinders the quality of the album. I only got it's meaning to Earl through reading along on Genius and for me, that's a problem.
I do agree though that he's one of the more authentic and "real" rappers out there right now.

'well, while i do understand that this may sound, in fact, like poopoo, i personally feel poopoo and the smell and taste of poopoo are raw experiences, and this album presents 'poopoo' in a way that's be very enganging and relatable. We all poo sometimes, after all. i just recently had a poopoo experience and this album speaks to me on a very personal level.

You know, I feel like seeing an artist live changes the perspective on that artist. Like if a band sounds only okay on record, but the way they perform live really connects you to the music, you're gonna go back to that record with more love.

I use percentages with reckless abandon. The 90% thing was hyperbole. What I’m saying is that I wouldn’t even care to pay close enough attention to most rappers to have these kinds criticisms, but when it comes to an earl record, the bar is set high.

Slow flows can be fine - but his slow flows here sound like he’s exhausted. I guess it fits the bill as “depressed” but beyond making a statement it just doesn’t have that much of a sound appeal.
