@ben: There's not really much political shit on this album, I don't think.

i vaguely recall having issues with his breathing but I'm too stuck on the new Eve album by Emery. All the best users are giving that album a 5.

"Are the lyrics on this more than "orange man bad"?"

That would require a modicum of specificity I don't think Bellamy is capable of. If you want to read all the bland, garden-variety "rise up against the man, I'm not a part your system bro" lyricism as "orange man bad" though, be my guest.

his sharp inhales were one of the things that made oos so unique for me back when it came out and i still dont dislike it.

It makes the vocals sound a lot weirder and fits OoS and Absolution so well imo

Muse really has run out of ideas. All the better songs on this thing feel like a mash of other muse songs but worse, Blockades is the Handler and MK Ultra, The Dark Side is Map of the Problematique and Butterflies & Hurricanes, etc...

I don’t know why I’m obsessed with the downfall of muse but I find it kind of fascinating

Blockades is mostly a collection of all Muse tropes, I don't see the direct conmection to The Handler and MK Ultra tbh. It's the heavy, more generic track most of their albums have (The Small Print, Exo Politics, MK Ultra, Defector).

I mostly see it in the Bridge/solo they’re really fucking similar and the vocals on the verse are almost identical to MK Ultra

Every time I see this band release something new, some small part of me still hopes they go back to their origin of symmetry/absolution sound, but then I listen to their new shit and... fack.

Fuck no, they were a fucking FANTASTIC band for a long time. I didn’t care too much for The 2nd Law or The Resistance but Drones was awesome and this one isn’t bad at all.
