"Also, Lombardo's drumming is beast on here."
It's actually my favorite performance by him and one of the best of all-time for me.

"Mandatory Suicide" is m/.
As blasphemous as it may sound, I think I'm liking this more than RiB.

Dave Lombardo = best metal drummer ever, or at least the best double bass drummer ever.

Wouldn't go that far, but he's way better than Lars.

I like Samuelson and Benante more than Lombardo.
I'd also put up Les Binks and Clive Burr for consideration.
Need to jam more metal though, so I can come up with more names.
I think Lombardo's skilled, don't get me wrong, but his style doesn't appeal that much to me.

Sean Reinert and Danny Carey are also up there.

Lombardo is probably my favourite, the man was the main reason I've started playing drums myself, but there are certainly better metal drummers, like Sean Reinert or Jaime Saint Merat

Never been crazy about Hoglan's drumming style tbh.

This is my least favorite of Slayer's first 5
|
| |
Hoglan's a damn machine and he's played in every single fuckin band ever. He's also entirely self taught, which is incredible considering how good he is.
