I think it was storm that said at first this sounds like a direct progression from magnetic north; but upon further listening there are much more evident links to satellite years and a-types. Im seeing that in full force now that ive listened all the way thru.

satellite years is one of the best core albums ever made, obviously this isn't as good
solid 4 for me so far, nothing groundbreaking but it's pretty great stuff and a welcome return

Satellite years took time to become the monument that it is man. I remember listening to it for the first time and liking three tracks at most on it... andromeda, only the clouds, and The bending. It wasn’t until a few years later that the album fully clicked and eventually took its rank among the best.
Talking about this one achieving that height 24 hours into its release is a little premature.
