As a non-fanboy, it's pretty fucking great from Californication-era onwards

He has a fantastic falsetto

curtains and the will to death and empyrean are prob his best vocal performances

"is john's voice even that good and am i just a fanboy? idk..."

I'm so glad you mentioned that because I was jamming PBX and I was thinking...imagine if he attempted to make that in
1994, would it be just as messy as this? I find that his vocals just got so much better from about 2001 onwards that as weird
and mental as PBX is, I can still enjoy it so much because his vocals are so improved.

Hope that makes sense, I'm ridiculously tired ha!

yea makes perfect sense

but still i wouldn't have his first three albums any other way

first two the weird vox add to the vibes

and i love love love his voice on to record only water even tho it sounds like a mouth full of barbed wire

To record only water is perfect and has to sound the way it does, it's almost like the relief of what came before it

For me, his masterpiece...and one of the best albums released in the 90's. This music has the scent of death to it. The one and only true great Frusciante album. He never made another album as emotionally RAW and beautifully aching as this...

Non-Mainstream Listeners: This is the best album of the 90ies. No doubt about it in my book!

I consider this Frusciante at his music peak. Noone went this far and actually noone dares to go this far for a reason i guess.

Musically spoken he does add dimensions to the music that never before were there in a musical piece.

Untitled #12!!!!! That is the song one enjoys probably the most once one is gone REALLY into it. Life-changing experience! Just as touching as something in the vein as Decades by Joy Division!

Damn my first week on sput wasn't met with this much positive reception.
I meant to say though check out the album Moodswing by a band called The Czars it's up in full on grooveshark and it's fantastic.

I am digging already Black Knights. All over youtube ( • )( •ԅ(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)

The most easy-listening is Keys To The Chastity Belt. Easiest way to get into. the rest is from the structure very out there, very progressive. some beat are hard and huge!
