Mirror Image might be my favourite thing on here. I'm surprised that I haven't seen a lot of praise for Beneath My Skin & Mirror Image.

Idk, that dual track just doesn't do it for me. It's like the more uninteresting songs on Altered State

Mate that last minute of Mirror Image is spine chillingly good.

I want Ashe back. I want the logical progression from Altered State, not this. [2]
Album has some interesting ideas, but nothing really fleshed out or interesting enough to me.
Waiting on the new Monuments album tho.

Ashe sounded too damn feminine for TesseracT, i'm really glad that they got back together with Dan

^I dig that sound tbh. I never heard a voice like that before

Ashe was a good fit for this band imo

I seriously don't get the "it's too feminine sounding" thing,
who cares if a guy is hitting notes that a female vocalist can,
it's a vocal style that is non-gender specific,
does it sound good, does it sound bad, that's all that matters
|
| |
I don't get the "feminine" aspect either, but to each their own.
Not to say I don't like Dan in the band (One is a great album), but I agree that I wish the band evolved from the sound of Altered States with Ashe on vox. Did enjoy Errai though.

Songs like the whole Of Matter movement are just awesome. I wished more of Altered State was like that. One still didn't click with me, most of their riffs just bleed together for me

Is he sounding famine? How did you get that idea?
I thought King will stay my fav but Beneath my Skin is really damn good.

Ashe's Feminine voice is what made him stand out. I also really dug all those vocal layers he incorporated into his style. I heard people argue that it masked the naturality of his voice and that his layering was a cheap technique used to distract from his true vocal capabilities. Personally I felt it gave Ashe an unique flavour that meshed incredibly well with TesseracT's atmospheric stylings.

The layering was really nice in some places but it was pretty poor in others. It does fit Tesseract's style though, they are already overproduced as hell so why not put in some extra vocal layers if it sounds nice?

^Sounds a little cynical, but it's true haha

I just don't like the tone of his voice guys, Dan is a much better fit for TesseracT and Ashe sounded out of place when performing "One" songs live imo

This is pretty good stuff. Didn't like their previous material that much. I also prefer Dan over Ashe, although I still like Ashe's voice. He sounds more at home with Voices from the Fuselage than he did in Tesseract.
Also, if you guys like this and want something similar yet a bit more dreamy, check out Atmospheres' new album Reach. It slays

I mean Dan can pull off the Altered State stuff live. Ashe couldn't do the One stuff. You can't blame the guy though as he has a very different style.

I mean, could Ashe do Dan's harsh vocals?
