It's better than the last 3 albums though, they must be bad at evaluating their own material now, or perhaps these songs just wouldn't have fit (most likely).
I preferred this direction, it's a little darker in tone & shows a sense of atmosphere which their recent material lacked.

This album is fantastic. It is emotional and raw. I disagree with the Spin article, Brent Hinds lyrics, the 12 string, it's made me feel moody, like I was a teenager again. It's both mature and immature. I don't hear the Southern Rock sound at all...I like it too much. This 20 minute EP is what the Sword was desperately trying to achieve with that stick bomb of High Country. Opinions are opinions.
