Probably a deluxe version a year down the road, I would hope. The title track for the new album is 7+ minutes though, so maybe it'll be similar to Eve and that's why they cut it.

Could work as a closer too, agreed. Either way it's surprising that a song of this undoubted quality wasn't deemed strong enough/necessary for the album. Wouldn't you want to build a new full-length around your best available material, providing it was cohesive.

All We Love's B-sides were killer too and they cut those for a future re-release, so it's not even out of the ordinary for them.

If Eve was a b-side this is gonna rip

That's the other way of looking at it, most bands would kill for a song like Eve, imagine what else they've conjured up. I'm excited either way!

I've felt like that sometimes yet over time I have accumulated over 10 000 listens of Converge on last.fm. Converge is love, Converge is life.

They keep sneaking up on me as well, I always come back. I haven't used last.fm anywhere near as much, it's been more of an off/on type deal but they're no.1 overall at the minute on mine.

They could just phone it in at this point after all of the classic albums they've released, but they're refusing to do that and I have to respect them for it.

Yeah it's impressive for sure, they must be one of the hardest working bands around & at no point have the gone 'through the motions'.

I found this release extremly interesting. Not only do i find Eve to be among one of the best things the band has ever done, but its so distonctly different from their usual stuff that im pretty certain its signifying a turning point for the bands sound from the chaotic and frantic to the crushing and monolithic.

haven't they been in that turning point since jane doe though?

I don't think they'll go full-on Neurosis on our asses, they still have their signature hardcore style & that isn't going to disappear all of a sudden. They've been dabbling in the crushing & monolithic for a while, this isn't a completely new direction.

This is some of the first Converge music I've ever heard and I am liking it

Yay, bloc! Yay!

Not sure if the old stuff would be my thing though. I recall they've changed their sound on the more recent albums and this to something more modern sounding which could explain my appreciation.

damn bloc, welcome to the party

Yeah, check All We Love at least. You Fail Me is one of my favorite metal albums of alltime.

The EP title is actually what brought me in. That shit is epic as fuck.
Yeah I am gonna work backwards with their discog. Some I always avoid but it may work for this band.
