I have loved everything these guys have done. Like a Virgin will still be my all time favorite by them (thank you Colly Strings) but Black Mile is right up there. This album is stunning!

well here's my main piece of criticism I guess...the production on this thing is gorgeous and brooding and it really makes this thing seem like a dark, intense piece. yet the instrumentation and even some of the vocal melodies do not match how powerful the production is...it just kinda falls flat. hopefully im speaking too soon since I have 3 songs left (album does seem to be building to SOMETHING) but im just underwhelmed

in a sense the rich production hampers the record since it draws more attention to the boring instrumentation and melodies. hi-def production needs to be matched with excellent songcraft or you end up with a record that leaves you empty

This is full of great songwriting, but I'm not a fan of the production. Jammed on headphones last night, but I'm going to try on my stereo later. It's a shame that almost all of the vocals have that echo/reverb going on. A lot of the layering seems to bury some of the clean guitar sections as well.
The Wolf rules hard and I really like the RGAC vibe of The Parts. Going to sit on this for a couple days before rating, but I'm feeling a light 3.5 at this point.
