@Boney: I'm listening to the lyrics for Leaving LA, and it sounds like he more or less agrees with you.

nice! I like how the strings weave around the vocals--beautiful counterpoint.

This was boring, tedious, and pretentious drivel. It was exactly what I expected but somehow worse. I think I've found the worst album of the year.

This is pretty awesome and my 4.5 (I think) rating for Honeybear might have to drop to a 4 because this could be better than that imo.

far from being the worst shit ever, but dude-- enjoying leaving LA takes a special kind of crazy.
Shit's loooong and sooooo booooooriiiiiiiinggggg. No excuses at all.

His first album was enjoyable, I found honeybear a bit dull and self-indulgent, but this was just completely insufferable. It's a sad day when Ronnie Radke releases a better album than you.

This album is taking a lot of time for me but I think I'm going to wind up really cherishing it. Two Wildly Different Perspectives is dumb tho

Since when is a 3.1 shit Pots
I mean compared to the people 1ing this a 3 is very very positive.

"two wildly different perspectives" is full of the most basic and reductive equivalences. It's like those liberals who write thinkpieces about how "the bernie bros and the alt-right ARE THE SAME" and act like they shared a nugget of wisdom.

Coming Home really isn't that bad. It's not incredible, but it's basically a TSTM album by Ronnie Radke. This is deplorable. If this was by anyone other than FJM, it would have an average in the 1's or low 2's. The sad part is that I feel like he knows this album sucks. He just wanted to see how bad of an album he could possibly make and still get acclaim with it. Y'all know he's laughing because people are praising this turd... and I love his previous albums. It's okay to hate this lmao. Secret is safe with me.

So is this album actually funny or is Father John Misty doing that whole "ironic title because the music is actually super serious" thing?

It's basically that he's joking at you spending your time listening to it because he knows you're boring yourself listening to it and he gets humor out of it. Jokes on you, but for some reason people are liking it? It's ironic, but you're the joke basically.. Listen to "Leaving LA" and if you can make it through that then you should be good. Personally, that is one of the worst songs I've ever heard, but if you like it, then you'll like this album. Hope you like his voice and his half-assed wit cuz that's all you'll get.
